Youth Staff Development Course
a Multi-Council Cooperative Pilot Course
for National Youth Leadership Training staff

The Northeast Region is committed to supporting council
National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) courses by delivering the
Youth Staff Development Course (YSDC) and the Alpine Conference. 
The region offers the week long YSDC for youth staff, support for
NYLT adult staff and the Alpine Conference for
top adult and youth NYLT staff.

            YSDC has been an experience I will never forget.  I came knowing nobody and by the
   end of the week a lot of Scouts felt like life-long friends.  Also, it has taught me many skills
   in presenting and the ability to take the presentations and skills back to my council and troop.
   It is a feeling unsurpassed in my scouting experience so far.

The Youth Staff Development Course (YSDC) trains youth staff
to be world-class presenters, evaluators and leaders of their council
National Youth Leader Training course.

YSDC was developed to support local council NYLT staff development after the
National Junior leader Instructor Camp (NJLIC), previously offered at Philmont, was no longer available.
