Participation at NYLT Leadership Academy is available only to youth who have been selected to serve as youth staff on their council NYLT course.

   All youth, Boy Scouts and Venturers, who have successfully attended NYLT are eligible to attend NAYLE.

What is NAYLE?
  National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE) is an exciting program of the Philmont Training Center where young men and women enhance their leadership skills in the Philmont backcountry.

   Youth will expand upon the team building and ethical decision making skills learned in National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).  NAYLE uses elements of the Philmont Ranger Training as well as advanced Search and Rescue skills to teach leadership, teamwork and the lessons of selfless service.  NAYLE offers participants an unforgettable backcountry wilderness experience that develops leadership and teamwork skills, using the core elements of NYLT to make these skills intuitive.
