Youth Staff Development Course

   The Youth Staff Development Course is designed to train youth staff
to be world-class presenters, evaluators and leaders of their council
National Youth Leader Training course.

            YSDC was like a model NYLT.  The environment created by the staff was amazing.  Each
    person here wanted to learn.  I felt welcome.  It really worked on my presentation skills and taught
    me how to become a staff member.  Each staff member on the course was amazing and I felt like I
    could talk to each one, one on one.  They taught how to run a proper NYLT and really got me
    motivated for my YLT course.  I really want to make my YLT course like this so participants can
    have more fun and remember what they were taught.  It also got me focused to better my own
    troop and become a better leader in general.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Youth Staff Development Course to provide each council
with the opportunity to participate in an effective, world class youth leadership
training program.  YSDC’s goal is to develop a staff dedicated to infecting
each participant with an enthusiastic force of learning that will instill in them
a growth experience that will last a lifetime.  This goal will be accomplished
through the establishment of a special place where learning and mutual respect
are fostered within the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law.
